Teen Court of Sarasota, Inc. provides students ages 8-18 with educational youth development activities that are designed to meet the specific needs of at-risk youth and student volunteers. In an attempt to make the community safer by reducing juvenile delinquency, all youthful participants become engaged in activities tailored to confront the many challenges facing youth in Sarasota County. The philosophical framework of our services is to offer educational classes and intervention services that unquestionably transform the lives of young people. By providing young people with ways they can make positive change in both their community and in their own lives, they become active participants in finding solutions for problems that impact their community.

NOVEMBER 27, 2018

Teen Court of Sarasota provides kids in our community a second chance to right their wrongs.  We operate as a community based alternative to the traditional juvenile court system and work closely with our school system to encourage positive changes in behavior for our youth. We believe in Teens Helping Teens, encouraging young people to help each other through times of difficulty in their lives.  We strengthen relationships within families, turning poor choices into learning opportunities.

Your generous donation will underwrite services for Sarasota County families with financial challenges. Here is how your donation helps:

$25: Provide healthy snacks for kids participating in our substance prevention and diversion CAMP X-RAYD

$100: Pay for one youth to attend our family group classes for 4 weeks

$500: Cover all typical services for one youth: program fee, drug test, CAMP X-RAYD & group classes

$1,000: Fund a young person’s mental health counseling sessions (10 sessions)

Your donation will change the lives of the young people we serve

With a gift of $500 or more you will receive a Teen Court 20 oz. Tervis stainless steel tumbler in honor of your donation.  It is a great memento of your generosity to treasure or to share with a loved one this season of GIVING.

Created by the team at the Belfer Center for Innovation & Social Impact at the 92nd Street Y—a cultural center in New York City that, since 1874, has been bringing people together around the values of service and giving back—#GivingTuesday connects diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. A team of influencers and founding partners joined forces, collaborating across sectors, offering expertise and working tirelessly, to launch #GivingTuesday and have continued to shape, grow and strengthen the movement.
